About Us
Fireflies is a non-profit organization based in Kasaragod, Kerala. We started as a volunteering platform for the youth. Now we work in addressing the needs of youths in Kasaragod district, which is the northernmost district of Kerala and founding ground of Fireflies.

Volunteering Events
Our volunteering events serve as a transformative platform for youth. They provide a purposeful escape from destructive patterns and offer a sense of belonging, purpose, and personal growth. With no financial burdens, it’s an opportunity to explore talents, connect with like-minded individuals, and make a positive impact on the community.
Training & Workshops
Our experiential workshops and tailored training empower youth with valuable skills and insights. From mental health to personal growth, life skills to entrepreneurship, we provide a space for self-discovery, skill enhancement, and resilience-building. We equip young individuals to thrive and excel in the face of challenges.
The Youth Empowerment Hub
It provides a dynamic space where young individuals can explore various opportunities, from art workshops, theatre, and movies to mental health initiatives. We call this space “Chimminikood”. Chimminikood strives to transform Kasaragod into a vibrant hub of creativity, growth, and employment, discouraging the need for migration.
Chimminikoodu {Cont N2C}
We call this space “Chimminikood,” which means “a tiny little lamp” in the Kasaragod dialect. Chimminikood is a unique platform created specifically for the youth of Kasaragod. In a city where intercultural dialogues and youth engagement are lacking, Chimminikood aims to fill this void. It provides a dynamic space where young individuals can explore various opportunities, from art workshops, theatre, and movies to mental health initiatives. Chimminikood strives to transform Kasaragod into a vibrant hub of creativity, growth, and employment, discouraging the need for migration. School painting in an isolated village of Alappuzha in the middle of the backwaters. Two days of volunteering gave the school a new lease of life. I have attended many events with my Fireflies family, but it is from here that I bring back very different memories.
